GT Solar (SOLR) is reporting another very impressive quarter of growth and has beat analyst estimates in the process. The company has reported an EPS of .41/share vs the analyst estimate for .31/share on revenues of $231 million vs the analyst estimate for $226 million. That’s good for quarter over quarter EPS and revenue growth of 273% and 71% respectively. The company is also reporting a record backlog of over $2 billion.

MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) beat estimates after the bell today and shares initially surged about 5% on the news, but have since given back much of the gain likely due to soft guidance. MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) Targets Military Solar Projects With Fotowatio Purchase
MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) announced earlier today that it has purchased the US subsidiary of Fotowatio Renewable which the CEO said provides them with an opportunity to grab a leading position in military solar installations as well as a nice compliment to its Sun Edison solar project subsidiary. MEMC will pay about $135 million for Fotowatio plus a potential deferred payment of up to around $100 million depending on Fotowatio performance targets.

Westinghouse Solar (WEST) Named Supplier For Lennar Homes Solar Initiative
Westinghouse Solar (WEST), formerly Akeena Solar, is soaring around 40% this morning on news that Lennar (LEN), one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, has named the company as a supplier of solar systems for new home buyers. The multi-year agreement will have WEST supplying its solar AC systems for new homes in select communities in Texas as part of Lennar’s “Everything Included” program. No word on the financials of the deal.
