Yesterday, we reported that the DOI requested approval of AES Corporation’s proposed LNG facility at Sparrows Point in Chesapeake Bay be put on hold to better study the potential impact of the project on local wildlife. Now, the Army Corps of Engineers is weighing in, saying it will deny AES’ application for a permit for the project until these concerns are addressed.
Officials with the Department of the Interior are requesting that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission postpone approval of AES’ proposed LNG plant in Chesapeake Bay. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission was expected to give AES permission to proceed with the plant, but the DOI wants to wait until an additional wildlife study is finished and analyzed.

Fuel Systems Solutions, Inc. announced today that it will be acquiring Distribuidora Shopping S.A. through its Italian subsidiary MTM S.r.L.. Distribuidora Shipping makes the Tomasetto Achille brand components for compressed natural gas vehicles. The deal, which should be completed in January, is for $22 million, "subject to adjustment for any closing indebtedness."
