Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) To Provide CNG Fueling to Central Jersey Waste

Central Jersey Waste & Recycling has hired Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) under a 5 year contract to provide financing, design, construction, operating and maintenance for a compressed natural gas fueling station.  Central Jersey Waste is the first firm in New Jersey to convert a portion of its fleet to natural gas.

James Harger, CLNE VP said, “We are pleased to provide these services for Central Jersey Waste that will in turn benefit the state of New Jersey by beginning to use cleaner, cheaper natural gas fuel for waste and recycling hauling. Waste hauling companies throughout the country are beginning to adopt natural gas fuel for both environmental and economic reasons. With more than 200,000 refuse trucks on the road nationwide, there is significant opportunity for natural gas vehicles to contribute to the nation’s growing energy commitment to reduce the use of foreign oil while helping clean the air.”

No word on the financials of the deal.  CLNE is trading up about 7% today and appears to be stabilizing between $4 – 5/share.
