Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) Down Big After Missing Big On EPS, “2011 Remains An Investment Year”

Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) is having a rough morning, down 15% after reporting an EPS that was well below analyst expectations.  After taking out the one time relocation cost of moving a portion of its business from the Netherlands to Italy, the company reported an EPS of .065/share which was well below the analyst estimate for a profit of .17/share.  The company attributed the miss to higher taxes in the quarter.  On the bright side, … Read the rest

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Beats Estimate, “Sees Substantial Strides In Next 18 Months”

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) also reported earnings results after the bell this evening, posting results above the analyst estimates, but the company remains firmly in the red.  The EPS came in on a non GAAP basis at .11/share which was better than the .13/share loss analysts had expected.  Revenues were a bit better than analyst expectations as well at $72 million vs the estimate for $70 million.

Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) Named Supplier For General Motors (GM) CNG Pickup Truck

Today Fuel Systems Solutions (FSYS) was selected by General Motors (GM) as a Tier-One supplier for a new compressed natural gas (CNG) bi-fuel commercial pickup truck. The company is already integrating its bi-fuel systems into the Chevy Express and GMC Savana cargo vans at its facility in Indiana and will add this new CNG pickup from GM into the mix.  The vehicle is expected to launch in about a year.

Westport Innovations (WPRT) Acquires Natural Gas Fuel Systems Provider For Volvo In Sweden

Westport Innovations (WPRT) announced this morning it has acquired a Sweden based company that provides natural gas fuel systems to Volvo for $7.6 million.  Alternative Fuel Vehicle Sweden AB (AFV) of Gothenburg, has been installing the nat gas fuel systems for the bi-fuel V70 wagons since 2009 and aims to expand into other markets with the help of Westport.

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Posts Mixed Results, Shares Remain Bullish

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) posted its earnings results after the bell tonight that were mixed.  The company beat analyst estimates on the EPS side posting a loss of .05/share vs the analyst estimate for a .09/share loss, but missed on the revenue side posting $65.3 million in revenue vs the expectation for $67 million.  While the EPS number was better than expected and an improvement over the year ago’s .07/share loss, revenues were up nearly … Read the rest

Ford (F) Sees Increasing Demand For CNG Natural Gas Vehicles
