Denison Mines Corp (DNN) Announces Postponement Of Midwest Project, Suspension At Tony M Mine, And Reduces Estimated Production

Due to the current economic climate, Denison Mines Corp announced that its Midwest Project will be postponed and production at the Tony M Mine will be suspended until conditions improve:

Exelon (EXC) Earnings Drop Due To Increased Expenses

Due to higher expenses, Exelon Energy’s third-quarter earnings have dropped from last year. The latest reports show income decreasing from 780 million, or $1.15 a share a year ago to $700 million, or $1.06 per share.  Although this was below analyst’s expectations of $1.13/share, the decrease was partially due to some one-time big ticket expenses. as BullishBankers.com notes below:

Xcel Energy (XEL) Earnings Fall, Missing Analysts’ Target

Xcel Energy posted its 3rd quarter results today. Although revenue rose to $2.85 billion from $2.4 billion, their 3rd quarter earnings fell 13% to $223 million dollars, or 51 cents a share. That’s a 13% drop from what the company was reporting at this time last year. Analysts had expected Xcel to post earnings of 61 cents a share, so the report was below expectations.

Exelon (EXC) Makes Bid To Buy NRG Energy (NRG)

Exelon, a power company with the nation’s largest fleet of nuclear reactors, made an all-stock bid to NRG Energy late Sunday, according to CNN Money. Shaw Group (NYSE: SGR) Expands Contract With Entergy Nuclear Corp (NYSE: ETR)

The Shaw Group Inc. just announced an expansion of its maintenance contract with Entergy Nuclear. The Maintenance Division of Shaw’s Power Group currently offers maintenance services for 10 of Entergy Nuclear’s nuclear power plants. Now, the contract has expanded to include Entergy’s 798-MW Palisades plant, located near South Haven, Michigan. This brings the total number of Entergy plants maintained by Shaw to 11.
