Esco Technologies (ESE) Beats, Shares Breakout

Esco Technologies (ESE) posted strong results late last week and traders bid up the stock sending shares on a breakout ride above previous resistance.  The company posted an EPS of .40/share vs the analyst estimate of .33/share on revenues of $160 million vs the analyst estimate of $154 million.  It  represents the 4th straight quarter of accelerating EPS and revenue growth.

General Electric (GE) Continues Smart Grid Acquisition Spree With Lineage Power & Remote Energy Purchases

EnerNOC (ENOC) To Acquire Global Energy Partners To Expand Demand Response Portfolio

EnerNOC (ENOC) announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Global Energy Partners, expanding its existing demand response portfolio.  GEP is headquartered in California and employs 55 with customers that include PG&E, So Cal Edison, Bonneville Power and other utilities across the US.  The acquisition is expected to close in early 2011 and be accretive to earnings the following year.  Financials of the deal were not disclosed.

EnerNOC (ENOC) Spikes On Participation In London Smart City Project

Shares of Enernoc (ENOC) popped about 10% yesterday on news that it will participate in the UK Power Networks Low Carbon London project which is a three year “smart city” initiative.  ENOC will be providing its DemandSMART systems to commercial and industrial users around the city of London.  The project will also incorporate the use of electric cars, heat pumps and smart meters.

Telvent (TLVT) To Collaborate With Microsoft (MSFT) On Smart Grid Software

We’ve seen Cisco making a big push into the smart grid space with recent software purchases, Google wants a piece and you can expect Microsoft to say “me too” as well just as it does with every other product it launches.  It was announced a couple days ago that Microsoft will team up with Telvent to create more efficient smart grid solutions for the utility industry.

EnerNOC (ENOC) Beats, But Guidance Disappoints, Shares Down 10%

EnerNOC (ENOC) reported good earnings results that beat analyst estimates, but the stock is trading down more than 10% most likely due to weaker than expected guidance.  The company reported a non GAAP EPS of $1.81/share vs the analyst estimate of $1.56 on revenues of $162.8 million vs the analyst estimate of $160.8 million.  Those numbers represent quarter over quarter growth of 39% in EPS and 58% in revenues, so a nice quarter.

American Superconductor (AMSC) Beats & Raises, Shares Up 6%

American Superconductor (AMSC) posted solid Q2 results this morning, beating analyst estimates and increasing their 2010 guidance.  The company reported a non GAAP EPS of .32/share (vs the estimate for .28) on revenues of $101.5 million (vs the estimate for $101 million).  That’s good for a 68% increase in EPS over the year ago quarter and a 35% increase in revenues.  Sequentially, the numbers were a slight improvement.

Itron (ITRI) Signs Major Contracts With Indonesian Utility For Smart Payment Meters
