Two green stock upgrades this morning in CSIQ and ITRI..
Collins Stewart is upgrading Canadian Solar (CSIQ) to Buy and setting the price target at $21.
Hat tip to Street Insider for the following analyst notes.
The firm still sees Q3 traditional module shipments of 90MW, but lowered its quarterly estimate for eModules from 15MW to 10MW. Collins Stewart also lowered its Q3 average selling price estimate from $2.15 per watt to $2.08. The firm … Read the rest
I missed the Itron (ITRI) Buy rating from Brean Murray and should have included it in the last post along with the other smart grid calls. The firm has initiated this smart grid leader with a Buy rating and 12 month price target of $65/share. Despite delays in the federal stimulus rollout, they still believe the company is on track for solid growth in 2010.
Itron has begun to show some life and is now … Read the rest
Brean Murray has initiated coverage on four green stocks this morning. American Superconductor (AMSC) and EnerNOC (ENOC) get Buy ratings from the firm while Echelon (ELON) and Comverge (COMV) get Hold ratings.
“Buoyed by an experienced management team and strong wind energy market growth in China, AMSC’s revenues grew from $52 million in FY06 to $183 million in FY08. With a continuation of the current wave … Read the rest
Echelon (ELON) was a bit slow in releasing this news today or they just didn’t coordinate it well with Telvent (TLVT). At any rate, the Fortum smart grid deal is yet another big win for Echelon (ELON) and cements them as a significant player in the smart grid arena. The press release indicates it will provide ELON with $50 – 60 million (so about 20 mill/year beginning in 2011) over the life of the project … Read the rest
Echelon (ELON) is surging nearly 20% today with big volume. The reason isn’t completely obvious because the company hasn’t issued a press release, but the reason the stock is moving is probably the result of Spain based Telvent integrating its smart grid solution with Echelon’s (ELON) for a big Finnish project with a cost of over $150 million.
According to Telvent’s release, they will be in charge of the design and development of a smart … Read the rest
American Superconductor (AMSC) has received a 2nd order for its D-VAR system for a Chinese smart grid and will deliver it to China National Machinery Industry Complete Engineering (note to China: shorten your company names!) by the end of this year. CMCEC will use the D-VAR to meet local grid interconnection requirements for Phase 1 of the Guanting Wind Farm which is ultimately expected to provide 150MW of wind power once completed. Furthering AMSC’s push … Read the rest
Shares of Comverge (COMV) will likely come under further selling pressure tomorrow morning on news the company has filed a shelf registration statement with the SEC which permits the company to offer and sell up to $100 million in securities. While the company has no immediate plans to offer shares, it gives them the flexibility to raise cash quickly should the need arise. Considering COMV took out support of the 50 day moving average today, … Read the rest
