Valence (VLNC) To Provide Batteries For Texas Smart Grid Community

Valence Technology just announced that it has been selected to provide lithium phosphate batteries and dynamic energy systems for a new master-planned smart grid community called Discovery at Spring Trails. Valence’s systems will be used to demonstrate a practice called “peak shaving,” which utilizes home appliances more efficiently during peak demand hours.

In a press release, Robert L. Kanode, president and CEO, Valence Technology, commented on the news:

“Valence Technology is proud to be involved with a project as pioneering as the Discovery at Spring Trails smart grid community. By significantly reducing homeowners’ energy costs through peak shaving, community storage applications will gain acceptance in the marketplace.
