EnerNOC (ENOC) Inks 3YR Deal With PG&E For SiteSMART Smart Grid App

First Solar (FSLR) Sells 30MW Solar Plant To Southern Company (SO) & Turner Renewable

First Solar (FSLR) has found a buyer for its Cimarron I Solar Project out in Northern Mexico and they didn’t have to look far.  It has announced this morning that Southern Company (SO) and Turner Renewable has purchased the 30MW solar plant which is expected to supply power to around 9000 homes beginning sometime this year.  Turner Renewable was previously owned by Ted Turner and was purchased by First Solar in late 2007.  Southern Company … Read the rest

Ener1 (HEV) Reports Record Revenue, But Losses Remain; Traders Cheer Ramp Up For THINK Launch

Ener1 (HEV) reported results last night that were about inline with what they’ve been reporting in the last year.  Another loss of .14/share just like last quarter but on record revenues of $11 million.  As a development stage company, the quarterly results don’t mean much right now though.  It’s all about the future and traders appear to like what’s in store, bidding up the stock about 10% today.

Broadwind Energy (BWEN) Misses Badly As Losses Continue, No Profitability In Sight

Broadwind Energy (BWEN) recorded another quarter of losses and profitability isn’t looking likely until at least 2011.  Subtracting one time items the company posted a loss .11/share, which was .04/share more than what analysts expected.  Revenues missed badly as well coming in at $32.95 million, missing estimates of $46 million.  This is a company making no progress and even took a step backwards last quarter.

Janney Montgomery Scott Reiterates Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Buy Rating, Stock Soars To All Time High

Last night I reported on Clean Energy Fuel’s (CLNE) strong earnings report and the Janney Montgomery Scott Buy rating reiteration is helping to push the stock to a new all time high today with heavy volume.  They have raised the price target as well to $26.  Hat tip to Street Insider for the following analyst comment:

China Sunergy (CSUN) Reports Unimpressive Results With Another Quarterly Loss

China Sunergy (CSUN) is once again showing why its a 2nd rate China solar company after reporting its second straight quarterly loss, reported an adjusted loss of .08/share which was inline with analyst estimates.  Revenues came in a bit higher than expected at $97.6 million.  The revenue growth was there with a 126% surge over the year ago quarter and a 20% sequential improvement, but the company just can’t generate any consistency with its … Read the rest

A-Power (APWR) To Work With U.S. Renewable Energy Group and American Nevada Group On Wind Turbine Production And Assembly Plant

A-Power Energy Generation Systems just announced that will work with US Renewable Energy Group and American Nevada Group to build a wind turbine production and assembly plant in Nevada. Once completed, the plant will be capable of producing 1,100 megawatts worth of advanced wind turbines each year.

The plant will also bring approximately 1,000 long-term jobs to Nevada, plus jobs generated by construction.

SunEdison (WFR) To Construct 72 MW Italian Solar Power Plant

MEMC Electronic Materials just announced that its division SunEdison has been selected to build a 72 MW solar power plant in Rovigo, Italy.  The project is expected to be the largest European solar power plant.  It is expected to begin producing power in the second half of this year, and to be completely finished by the end of 2010. Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Surprises With Another Profitable Quarter

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) is up about 3% in after hours trading after beating Wall St estimates by a wide margin on the EPS side.  The company reported an EPS of .02/share while Wall St expected a .04/share loss.  Revenues came in about 5% higher than expected at $42.2 million.  That’s a nearly 50% increase over the year ago quarter and the company has now strung together two straight profitable quarters for the first time … Read the rest
