A-Power Energy Generation Systems just announced that will work with US Renewable Energy Group and American Nevada Group to build a wind turbine production and assembly plant in Nevada. Once completed, the plant will be capable of producing 1,100 megawatts worth of advanced wind turbines each year.
The plant will also bring approximately 1,000 long-term jobs to Nevada, plus jobs generated by construction.

According to this press release, A-Power just announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, EVATECH, has been awarded a $1.7 million contract by an unnamed a Chinese leading renewable energy company. Under the terms of the agreement, EVATECH will design, build and install one set of photovoltaic solar machines, which it is expected to ship on May 31, 2010. The Chinese company has already made a downpayment.

According to this press release, A-Power will be building a 150 megawatt biomass plant in Thailand. The company has signed an agreement with Thailand’s Biomass Electricity Co., Ltd regarding the plant. Under the $86 million contract, A-Power will design the plant, which will be built in Prachinburi, Thailand. The US Renewable Energy Group and A-Power just signed a cooperation agreement to develop a new US wind turbine production and assembly plant. Once completed, the planned 3,200 square foot plant will be capable of producing 1,100 MW worth of advanced wind turbines every year.

A-Power Generation Systems just announced that they will supply a 600 MW wind farm in West Texas as a part of a joint venture between Shenyang Power Group the U.S. Renewable Energy Group and Cielo Wind Power LP. A-Power Energy just announced that it has formed 2 joint ventures with Jiangsu Miracle Logistics System Engineering Co., Ltd. The first joint venture, Shenyang Tianxiang Wind Equipments Manufacturing Co., Ltd, will manufacture wind turbine components like blades and hubs, at a new plant in Shenyang City. A-Power announced yesterday that it has signed a deal for a joint venture with GE Drivetrain Technologies.Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will work together to create a wind turbine gearbox assembly business. GE Drivetrain will own the majority of the business.
The companies also entered into a supply agreement, under which GE will provide more than 900 2.7 MW gearboxes to A-Power, starting in 2010.
