Feds Approve 1st Solar Project On Public Land – First Solar’s (FSLR) Silver State

US Geothermal (HTM) Drills Most Promising Well At Neal Springs

US Geothermal (HTM) is announcing this morning that it has successfully drilled and tested a third production well at the Neal Hot Springs geothermal project Oregon. At a production temperature of 287.5 degrees and pressure at 2770 gallons per minute it is the most promising of the wells drilled so far (this is the 3rd).

Rubicon Technology (RBCN) Plummets Again, This Time On Sterne Agee Sell Rating

American Superconductor (AMSC) Announces SolarTie Solution Targeting Utility Scale Solar Plants

American Superconductor (AMSC) announced this morning its new SolarTie Grid Interconnection Solution which combines its D-VAR STATCOM and PowerModule power conversion systems for a fully optimized solution to target utility scale solar plants.  It’s expected to be a $2 billion market within the next five years.

Satcon (SATC) Launches Next Gen Solar Power Inverter, Equinox

Satcon Technology (SATC) is having a good day today.  The stock is breaking out to a new 52 week high after announcing a deal with a 63MW solar plant for its Solstice system and have also announced the launch of their next generation solar power inverter, the Satcon Equinox.  The new inverter builds upon the success of the industry leading PowerGate inverter offering improved efficiencies up to 98.5%.

Verenium (VRNM) Licenses Enzyme For Edible Oils To Bunge (BG), Shares Breaking Out

Verenium (VRNM) is breaking out with heavy volume today on news it has licensed a new enzyme for use in the production of edible oil products to Bunge Oils, a subsidiary of Bunge Limited (BG).  The enzyme was developed as part of the R&D agreement with Bunge to develop edible oils such as cooking oil, shortening, margarines and other products derived from soybeans and corn.

General Electric (GE) Announces Availability Of Solar Products

Google (GOOG) Invests In Offshore Wind Farm Transmission Backbone

Google (GOOG) announced on their official blog last night that they are investing in the development of a major transmission backbone for wind farms off the Mid Atlantic coast which will stretch 350 miles from NJ to Virginia and have the capacity to connect 6000MW in offshore wind energy.. enough to serve nearly 2 million homes.
