JA Solar (JASO) and Jabil Circuit (JBL) have inked a deal on a two year joint venture which has JASO supplying 400MW in solar cells as well as module designs. The deal allows Jabil to manufacture 200MW per year in solar modules with JASO at Jabil facilities in China, Poland and Mexico. China May Scrap Some Nuclear Power For Solar Power
According to Bloomberg, the Nation Development & Reform Commission in China has said that it will reduce its 2020 target for nuclear power from 80GW, but didn’t say by how much. The beneficiary? Solar power companies. The commission plans to increase its solar power capacity estimate for 2020 from 20GW, but also didn’t specify by exactly how much.

First Solar (FSLR) Adding 250MW Capacity In Arizona
First Solar (FSLR) announced late this week that it plans to add 250MW of additional manufacturing capacity with four new manufacturing lines (with capability to expand to 10) in Mesa, AZ, doubling its US capacity to 500MW. Canadian Solar (CSIQ) Announces 3rd Solar Park Project With SkyPower (10MW)
Canadian Solar (CSIQ) had two solar EPC contracts in place with SkyPower Limited to build a 10.5MW and 8.5MW solar park and yesterday they announced a third 10.5MW solar park contract. This particular park will be located in Thunder Bay at Fort William. Construction is expected to be completed on all three projects by the end of Q3 and provide enough clean electricity to power 50,000 homes.
