JA Solar (JASO) Misses Badly With Record Loss, Guides Lower

An awful earnings report out of JA Solar (JASO) this evening with the company missing analyst EPS estimates by a wide margin and reporting a record quarterly loss of .22/share.  Ouch.  Revenues came in at $413 million vs the estimate for $418 million.  The cause? You guessed it.. a slow down in Germany and policy changes in Italy not to mention increasing economic uncertainty.

JA Solar (JASO) More Than Doubles Internal Wafer Capacity With Silver Age Acquisition

JA Solar (JASO) continues to find ways to expand capacity.  You might remember that back in February the company announced a 3 year, $2 billion expansion plan.  This morning the company announced an acquisition of Virgin Islands based Silver Age Holdings for $180 million in stock.  Silver Age owns a leading solar wafer producer in China with an annual solar wafer capacity of 485MW.  The company also produces quartz crucibles which is a key material … Read the rest

JA Solar (JASO) Posts Strong Results, Is The Bottom In?

JA Solar (JASO) is seeing a nice pop in the early going this morning after reporting better than expected Q1 results.  The company reported a non GAAP EPS of .40/share on revenues of $556 million.  That’s a beat on both the top and bottom line and represents significant quarter over quarter growth of 67% and 91% respectively.

JA Solar (JASO) Wins 400MW Supply Deal/Partnership With Jabil Circuit (JBL)

JA Solar (JASO) and Jabil Circuit (JBL) have inked a deal on a two year joint venture which has JASO supplying 400MW in solar cells as well as module designs. Two solar industry heavyweights announced a 50/50 joint venture for solar cell production in China today.  JA Solar (JASO) and MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) will build and operate a solar cell production facility in China with phase 1 calling for 250MW of capacity which may be expanded up to 1GW.

JA Solar (JASO) Inks 110MW Supply Deal With Leading German Solar Company Solar-Fabrik

JA Solar (JASO) has signed another supply agreement with Solar-Fabrik AG of Germany.  JASO will supply more than 110MW of solar products throughout this year.

JA Solar (JASO) Announces Massive $2 Billion Capacity Expansion Over 3YRS

JA Solar (JASO) Beats, Also Sees Strong 2011

JA Solar (JASO) joined Trina Solar (TSL) in posting strong earnings results.  The company beat analyst estimates by posting an EPS of .59/share on revenues of $585 million vs the analyst estimate for .48 in EPS on revenues of $570 million.  That’s good for quarter over quarter growth of 392% and 145% respectively.  The company reported record shipments of 463MW during the quarter which doubled the year ago quarterly output.
