Yingli Green Energy (YGE) Signs Contracts with IBC Solar

Yingli Green Energy announced today that is has signed a sales contract with IBC Solar.  Under the terms of the contract, Yingli Green Energy will supply IBC with 91 MW of their PVC modules starting in December 2008 and ending in October 2009. The price of the PVC modules is fixed, but can be adjusted if the market price falls below the fixed price.

Suntech Power (STP) Helps to Complete 2 Spain Solar Plants

Suntech Power (STP) and a + f (a subsidiary of Spain’s Gildemeister Group) worked together to complete two solar power plants in Spain.  STP supplied about half of the modules used to complete the plants in Alange (8.5MW) and Alconera (7.4MW) which will be enough power for around 9K households.

American Superconductor (AMSC) Confirms 2008 Forecast, Advises On 2009 Outlook

American Superconductor confirmed its 2008 forecast, saying it expects to the end the year with a less of .30-.35 per share. The company expects to post sales of $175 million to $185 million. Wall Street analysts predicted that the company would lose .34 per share and post sales of $176.6 million.

Ascent Solar (ASTI) Achieves Efficiency Milestone for CIGS Thin Film Solar Panels

Ascent Solar (ASTI) is announcing this morning that it has achieved greater than 9.5% efficiency for its thin film, flexible Copper, Indium, Gallium, Selenide (CIGS) integrated solar modules.

Solarfun (SOLF) Beats On EPS But Revenues Light

Solarfun (SOLF) reported an EPS before one time provision adjustments of .16/share which represents a decline in growth over the year ago quarter for the first time in a few years but did beat low analyst expectations of .14/share.  Quarterly revenue came in at $187.8 million, good for an 88% increase over the year ago quarter but a bit below analyst estimates of 195 million.  The company sees Q4 shipments to be at or slightly … Read the rest

SunPower (SPWRA) Inks 3 Yr 100MW Deal With City Solar

SunPower (SPWRA) announced early this morning a new contract with City Solar of Germany in which SPWRA will provide them with 100MW of solar panels along with commercial rooftop and ground mounted systems over the next 3 years.

First Solar (FSLR) Completes 2MW Solar Plant for So Co Edison

Yingli Green Energy Holding Co (YGE) Reports 3rd Quarter Results, May Buy Cyber Power

Yingli Green Energy released its 3rd quarter results last week. Net revenue went up quite a bit, increasing to RMB 2,209.8 million (USD $325.5 million) from RMB 1,987 million in the 2nd quarter of 2008 and RMB 1,276.5 million in the 3rd quarter of last year.
