BorgWarner (BWA) To Supply Fiat With DualTronic(R) Transmission Control System

BorgWarner just announced that it will be supplying Fiat Powertrain Technologies with its DualTronic Transmission Control System to be used in Fiat’s first dry dual-clutch transmission. The fuel-saving technology will be available on the Alfa Romeo MiTo late this year, and then its use will expand to include many Fiat, Lancia and Alfa mid-sized C and D segment models starting next year.

John Sanderson, President and General Manager, BorgWarner Transmission Systems, commented on the announcement in a company press release:

"This application expands BorgWarner’s DualTronic controls technology to a dry dual-clutch system for the first time. Leveraging the engineering expertise and product experience of our European team, BorgWarner offers the broadest range of dual-clutch transmission solutions in the industry today."
