Capstone Turbine Corporation has sold a C200 Microturbine wind energy system to a Shanghai high-rise. The 14-story Shanghai Shenergy Energy Center will be the first building in Shanghai to use Capstone’s low emission, natural gas powered microturbine to produce clean energy.

In a company press release, Darren Jamison, Capstone President and Chief Executive Officer, commented on the sale:

"Worldwide interest in Capstone’s C200 product has been strong since it was introduced over a year ago. C200’s and our 1-megawatt C1000 systems have been sold in the United States, Europe, Russia and Australia. Asia is a key market for Capstone and selling our first C200 in a world class city like Shanghai is analogous to our first C200 sale in New York City. We have a number of our C30 and C65 microturbines in a variety of applications throughout Asia, and we continue to see significant interest for all our products but especially the C200 and C1000,” added Jamison.
