JP Morgan initiates Molycorp (MCP) with Overweight rating and $26.50 price target based on China’s rationing of supplies and raising of rare earth prices.  Molycorp aims to be the biggest miner of rare earth metals in the US which are necessary for everything from electric cars to television screens.  It’s been said that the Toyota Prius uses more rare earth metals than any other product in the world  Molycorp stock has soared ever since its IPO and is up nearly 100% in just a few weeks.  It’s up another 5% today, but way too extended in the shorter term.

Piper Jaffray reiterates its Overweight rating and $29 price target on Telvent (TLVT) based on Obama’s $50 billion infrastructure announcement made yesterday.  TLVT stock has had a rough few months, but I believe that at some point, the correction will offer a terrific long term entry point.  However, it’s not showing enough strength quite yet to indicate the correction may be over.
