Recurrent Chooses Energy Conversion Devices (ENER) For 4.8 MW Spanish Solar Project
Energy Conversion Devices just announced that it has been selected by Recurrent Energy to provide 4.8MW of its UNI-SOLAR photovoltaic (PV) laminates to be used on eight building rooftops at 2 business parks owned by Prologis in Spain. Energy Conversion Devices’ Solar Integrated subsidiary will provide development resources.
In a press release, Mark Morelli, Energy Conversion Device’s president and CEO, commented on the deal:
This new agreement is the first example of the benefits of combining our leading UNI-SOLAR PV laminate product with the rooftop solar expertise of Solar Integrated. This project also demonstrates how we will work closely with Recurrent Energy and our key channel partners–in this case Soprema and its dedicated subsidiary Solardis–to provide innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers and their roofs,” said Mark Morelli, president and chief executive officer for ECD.

And the announcement raises a few questions, like, for example, whether this was an inventory dump by Solardis (Soprema) or by SIT.
