Sunpower (SPWRA) And Etrion Working Together On Italian Solar Plants
Sunpower just announced that it will be partnering with Etrion to build 4 solar power plants in southern Italy. Altogether, the plants will provide 4MW of solar energy. Sunpower will handle design, construction, operations and maintenance on the plants, which will use its “Tracker” technology.
The companies plan to break ground on the new construction by the end of November, and the plants should be up and running by late 2010.
In a press release, SunPower European Sales Director Mario Riello commented on the news:
“SunPower offers a unique value proposition to power plant developers in terms of technology and bankability. Our proprietary Trackers optimize our clients’ return on investment while our solid balance sheet and rigorous contract guarantees give financial institutions confidence. We are very pleased to partner with Etrion to deliver clean, reliable solar power to the rapidly expanding Italian market.”
