Brean Murray Bullish On Smart Grid Stocks (AMSC, ENOC, ITRI)

Brean Murray is out with a bullish call on the smart grid sector this morning and believes that with healthcare reform out of the way, the government will return its attention back to energy and energy efficiency.  Hat tip to Street Insider for the following analyst comment.

Despite Upgrade & Buy Rating, American Superconductor (AMSC) Whacked Again

American Superconductor (AMSC) continued selling off today following its strong earnings report.  Traders obviously don’t believe it was a strong enough report to support the high valuation and so the stock drops into a much needed base.  It looks to me like it’s headed to that 200 day moving average just below the $32 level.

The selling continues today despite two upgrades – from Janco Partners and Brean Murray.

More Smart Grid Analyst Calls: Itron (ITRI) A Buy, Echelon (ELON) At Outperform

I missed the Itron (ITRI) Buy rating from Brean Murray and should have included it in the last post along with the other smart grid calls.  The firm has initiated this smart grid leader with a Buy rating and 12 month price target of $65/share.  Despite delays in the federal stimulus rollout, they still believe the company is on track for solid growth in 2010.

Brean Murray Initiates AMSC, ENOC With Buy; COMV, ELON At Hold

Brean Murray has initiated coverage on four green stocks this morning.  American Superconductor (AMSC) and EnerNOC (ENOC) get Buy ratings from the firm while Echelon (ELON) and Comverge (COMV) get Hold ratings.
