Vestas Wind Systems has received a wind turbine order from Parco Eolico Ordona, an Italian subsidiary of Inergia. Under the terms of the agreement, Vestas will deliver and install 13 units of its V90 2MW wind turbine and its VestasOnline Business supervisory control and data acquisition system. Vestas will also provide a 5-year service and availability agreement on the turbines.

The turbines will be used to create a wind power plant near the Italian town of Ordona, in the region of Apulia. According to the Energy Business Review,

With a total installed capacity of 26MW and an estimated annual production of 71GWh, the wind power plant will save the environment from approximately 29,000 tons of CO2 emissions, and will cover the yearly electricity consumption of almost 30,000 Italian households, claims the energy company.
