AES Wind Generation just announced that its 101 MW Armenia Mountain wind farm in Pennsylvania is up and running. AES will sell the 100% of the power produced by the plant to nearby utilities Delmarva Power and Light and Old Dominion Electric Cooperative under 15 year power purchase agreements, with each utility taking 50% of the output.
In a press release, Marty Crotty, President of AES Wind Generation, commented on the news:
“Armenia Mountain is our first wind project in PJM Interconnection, which we continue to see as an important market in our U.S. strategy. We look forward to developing new projects in the region.”
