Piper Jaffray Reiterates Overweight Rating On JA Solar (JASO), Raises PT

Last night JA Solar (JASO) raised guidance and announced a share repurchase program.  Piper Jaffray is responding this morning by reiterating their Overweight rating and raising the price target from $6 – $7.

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) Announces Largest Contract In History – 130MW With IBC Solar

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) has announced the largest contract in its history as it signed a 130MW solar supply deal with IBC Solar of Germany and will ship the modules throughout 2010.

Rentech (RTK) Revenues Plunge & Earnings Restated Due To Accounting Errors

Rentech (RTK) has had a great few months on a flurry of good news, but tonight the good news streak comes to an end.  The company reported a big plunge in revenues from the year ago quarter due to the weak economy and lower corn prices.  The company reported just $24.7 million in revenues, representing a 75% plunge from the year ago quarter.  The EPS loss matched the year ago quarter at -.03/share.

US Geothermal (HTM) Gets 25MW Geothermal PPA With Idacorp (IDA)

JA Solar (JASO) Raises Guidance, Announces Share Repurchase Plan

JA Solar (JASO) staged a very bullish breakout move today with heavy volume, up 16% on the day.  It’s up another 6% in after hours trading after the company raised its 4th quarter and full year 2009 guidance and announced a share repurchase plan.

Covanta (CVA) Begins Construction Of Dublin Energy-From-Waste Facility, May Be Considering Purchasing Shanks

Covanta just announced that it has started production on a energy-from-waste facility located in Dublin, Ireland. The facility, which is being built as a Public Private Partnership between Dublin City Council and Dublin Waste to Energy Limited (owned by Covanta), will have the capacity to process 600,000 tons of waste per year, creating enough energy to power 60,000 homes.
