Fuel Tech (FTEK) Announces $2.0 Million In Orders

Fuel Tech just announced that it has received $2 million worth of orders for its air pollution control devices. One of the largest orders was from Spain, for two aqueous ammonia-based Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems for nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction at municipal solid waste (MSW) incinerators. This order should be completed in the current quarter.

Another major order came from the US , for Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling for a biomass facility and other services to assist in starting up a NOx reduction project.

In a press release, Douglas G. Bailey, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, commented on the news:

“We are pleased to report that the order from Spain represents our largest single contract for a system operating in Europe. The last year and a half has shaped up to be one of our busiest times for our European operation. In the MSW market alone, we have received orders for nine NOx control systems, prompted by looming compliance deadlines in a number of European Union nations. Discussions to secure other MSW business is ongoing as are efforts to market our broadened suite of NOx control technologies throughout Europe.”
