Canadian utility Trans-Alta announced that their Kent Hills Wind Farm is now up and running. The wind farm will generate up to 96 megawatts of electricity for TransAlta customers, and can be expanded in the future to produce an additional 54 MW. This brings TransAlta’s wind power capacity to a grand total of 248 MW.
Hopefully, this will boost TransAlta’s stock somewhat. Upstreamonline.com notes that
TransAlta shares fell 9 Canadian cents to C$25.16 on the Toronto Stock Exchange yesterday. The shares have dropped 25% over the past 12 months, Reuters reported.
