Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) Gets 3 Yr City of Phoenix LNG Deal

Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) continues to add government customers for its liquified natural gas fueling solutions.  Today, it’s been announced that the City of Phoenix (which has the largest fleet of LNG buses in the nation) has awarded CLNE with a new three year contract to supply LNG fuel to power its fleet of 400 buses in the Public Transit Department (Valley Metro) making the Metro Fleet its largest customer to date.  The contract begins July 1st and will deliver 6 million gallons of LNG annually across three fueling sites.

CEO James Harger commented, “We are pleased to provide LNG fueling services to the City of Phoenix, ensuring that transit buses roll out daily to meet vital community transportation needs. Clean Energy is committed to helping reduce pollution and protect environmental quality in every community and region we serve, and we commend Valley Metro for their success at achieving these goals.” Natural gas is one of the best ways to reduce air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions because it burns cleaner than diesel fuel.
