LDK Solar (LDK) Gets 5W Deal With Italy’s SAEM
An increasing number of solar deals are coming out of Italy. LDK Solar (LDK) is getting a bit of a pop premarket on news that it will work with Italy’s SAEM beginning this month to build five 1MW solar PV plants in the Apulia region of Italy. LDK will supply the solar wafers and SAEM will provide just about everything else including system integration.
“We are very eager to increase LDK Solar’s presence in Italy,” stated Xiaofeng Peng, Chairman and CEO of LDK Solar. “The Italian PV market continues to be one of the most interesting in Europe and is forecasted to grow significantly over the next three years. Our agreement with SAEM is another noteworthy achievement for us as we work to strengthen our position in the PV power plants market in Europe and continue to build our foundation to capture future opportunities.”

PV insights expect that solar module price will be around US1.2/W to $1.5/W in 1Q10. This will help more and more solar system installation projects shown in the coming future.
