Hoku Scientific (HOKU) Secures Materials For Solar Production

Hoku Scientific (HOKU) has announced this evening that they have secured a supply deal with BHS Acquisitions, a leading chemical supplier for supplies needed  to produce solar grade polysilicon.  BHS will supply Hoku with guaranteed amounts of HCI for eight years beginning in 2009 and is expected to be enough to support the continued operation of Hoku’s trichlorosilane plant, enabling the production of 4000 metric tons of polysilicon per year.  … Read the rest

ABB And LDK Solar (LDK) Sign $36 Million Equipment And Services Contract For New Plant

 

ABB announced today that it has entered a new solar equipment, system and service contract with LDK Solar worth at least $36 million dollars. Under the contract, ABB will assist LDK Solar in the construction of a polysilicon production plant in Xinyu City, China.

Hoku Materials (HOKU) Secures Power for Polysilicon Production

Hoku Materials, a subsidiary of Hoku Scientific (HOKU) announced the signing of an electric service agreement with Idaho Power Co. for the purchase of electricity to power Hoku’s planned polysilicon production capacity of about 4000 metric tons/year.

Hoku (Nasdaq: Hoku) Enters Second Contract With Tianwei New Energy Wafer Co.

Marketwire reports that Hoku has entered into a second contract with Tianwei New Energy Wafer Co, bringing it one step closer to funding the polysilicon plant it is constructing in Idaho. Hoku has also increased the capacity of the proposed plant, from  3,500 metric tons of polysilicon to 4,000.
