Green Stocks Upgrade/Downgrades Roundup: CREE, SPWRA, YGE, FSLR, STP
There were a few upgrades and downgrades of green stocks today, particularly in the solar space that I wanted to run through tonight.
Macquarie made a few calls in the solar space worth mentioning:
Yingli Green Energy (YGE) was upgraded from Neutral to Outperform. Shares finished up more than 5% and bounced off the 50 day moving average.

Obama At Nellis Touts Solar, Geothermal (Video)
Prez Obama spoke at Nellis Air Force base today discussing the importance of renewable energy and announcing funding efforts for solar and geothermal. Nellis Air Force base is home to the largest solar installation in the Western hemisphere and provides 25% of the electricity for the 12000 who live and work at the base, saving the military about $1 million a year.

Lazard Capital & Collins Stewart Buy Rating On Yingli Green Energy (YGE)
Yingli Green Energy (YGE) is erasing Friday’s losses after Collins Stewart maintained its Buy rating and raised the price target from $10 to $11 and Lazard Capital upgraded the stock from Hold to Buy this morning.

Suntech Power (STP) Has Plans To Triple US Business in 09
Suntech Power (STP), the large China solar company has plans to triple its US business in 2009 in a joint venture with MMA Renewable Ventures forming Gemini Solar Development LLC and plans to target projects greater than 10MW. Suntech (STP) Will Power Largest Building Mounted PV Project in Arizona
Suntech (STP) has announced that it will provide 1.6 MW of solar panels to Sun Devil Solar LLC, a subsidiary of Integrys Energy Services for its project with Arizona State University. ASU will install the modules on top of two parking structures in the middle of campus and is to be completed by the end of this year. House Extends Solar, Wind, Green Energy Tax Credits..
The StreetInsider.com is reporting that there are rumors that the House has also voted to extend the tax credits for solar, wind and other renewable energies… Remember the Senate passed the bill a few days ago. I’ll have an update soon.
