I just posted about Altair’s lithium battery deal with Proterra for their electric buses and Valence Technology (VLNC) is also providing lithium batteries for electric buses.  The company announced today it’s technology is powering e-Traction’s e-Busz all electric buses in Rotterdam of the Netherlands.  The first two zero emission buses were transferred to the Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram in a ceremony last week.  The buses are recharged through regenerative breaking and plug in power during off hours in order to run 16 – 18 hrs per day.

Valence VP of Sales & Marketing RJ Adleman commented: “Once again, Valence’s leadership in advanced battery technology is making zero-emissions commercial fleet transportation possible.  With our dynamic energy systems, e-Traction(R) was able to deliver a highly advanced, zero emissions bus that will greatly benefit the residents of Rotterdam by providing clean, green, quiet public transportation.”

VLNC finished down again today and continues trade under a buck, but there is significant support around the .75 level.  The stock may offer a compelling entry should it break out again from this consolidation.
