It’s been a rough year for lithium battery stocks, but every once in awhile some good news emerges such as the $7.2 million lithium battery order Valence Technology (VLNC) received from Electric Vehicles International (EVI) to be used in 100 UPS trucks around California. No word on when the vehicles would be placed into service.
Valence Technology (VLNC) posted mixed results late last week and traders didn’t react much keeping the stock above its 50 day moving average and the bullish uptrend off the August lows intact. The company beat on the EPS side posting a loss of .01/share (vs the estimate for a .02/share loss), but the revenue number missed with the company reporting $13.8 million vs the $15 million analyst estimate. The good news is that the company … Read the rest
It’s been a great ride for Valence Technology (VLNC) in recent weeks. A couple days ago, I highlighted the emergence of Altair Nanotechnologies (ALTI) and mentioned Valence Technology (VLNC) may be next. There is news this morning that could get the stock going again and above the 200 day moving average.

I’m not seeing any news or upgrades that would account for this move, so maybe the news is coming. If you have an idea of why the surge is taking place in ALTI feel free to leave a comment below. Another speculative lithium battery stock that may be primed and fueled for surge is Valence Technology (VLNC). … Read the rest

Smith is the nation’s top manufacturer of electric commercial trucks with its Newton line.

The company announced today it’s technology is powering e-Traction’s e-Busz all electric buses in Rotterdam of the Netherlands. The first two zero emission buses were transferred to the Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram in a ceremony last week.
