ABB just announced that they have received a $30 million order from GA Solar for a 13 megawatt PV power plant in northern Spain. Under the terms of the agreement, ABB will handle the plant’s design, engineering, construction, civil works and commissioning.

GA Solar is using ABB’s modular eBOP (electrical balance of plant) concept to speed construction of the plant, which should be online later this year.

In a press release, Peter Leupp, head of ABB’s Power Systems division, commented on the news:

“This project demonstrates how ABB technologies help to integrate renewable energy into our power networks, safely and efficiently, adding power capacity with minimal environmental impact.”
