Appliance Recycling Centers of America (ARCI) Snags Contract With Great River Energy

Appliance Recycling Centers of America just announced that it has a new contract with Great River Energy to recycle refrigerators and freezers for Great River Energy’s member co-ops in Minnesota. The contract runs from April 1, 2010 and run through September 30, 2010 and will support an incentive program to encourage Great River Energy’s customers to trade in old, inefficient freezers and fridges for newer, more efficient models. While the program is running, customers can get a $35 incentive check for turning older units.

In a press release, Edward R. (Jack) Cameron, President and Chief Executive Officer, said:

“We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to provide turnkey appliance recycling services for this energy efficiency program sponsored by Great River Energy in our home state of Minnesota. The program will be ARCA’s sixth utility-sponsored energy efficiency program in Minnesota. By capitalizing on ARCA’s successful Great American Refrigerator RoundupĀ® campaign, Great River Energy and its member cooperatives will reduce residential electricity demand, help lower their customers’ energy bills and provide public environmental benefits.”
