PG&E (PCG) Adds Another 48MW Of Solar Power From Sempra Energy (SRE)

PG&E (PCG) will purchase another 48MW of thin film solar energy from Sempra Energy, produced at its Copper Mountain facility.  Last year, PG&E purchased all 10MW of the output at the El Dorado plant from Sempra.

“This agreement represents a major step forward for Sempra Generation in the development of the largest operational photovoltaic solar power installation in North America,” said Michael W. Allman, CEO of Sempra Generation.

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) Breaks Ground On RMB 6 Billion Industry Park

According to Pacific Epoch, Yingli Green Energy (YGE) has broken ground on a new RMB 6 billion (a bit less than $1 billion) industry park that will house a 800MW per year crystalline solar project with a completion date set for Dec of next year.  It will more than double the company’s yearly output to 1400MW and generate potential sales of more than $2 billion per year.

A-Power Energy (APWR) Acquires 1.5MW Wind Turbine Technology & Operations From Shenyang Hauren

A-Power Energy (APWR) is acquiring Shenyang Huaren’s proprietary wind turbine technology and operations to commercially produce 1.5MW grade turbines, the company has announced.  Shenyang will train and direct A-Power engineers on assembly, installation and testing for the next three years.  APWR will also fulfill Huaren’s back order of 10 wind turbines as part of the deal.  … Read the rest

Canaccord Adams Joins Jefferies In EnerNoc (ENOC) Buy Ratings

Earlier this morning, Jefferies upgraded EnerNoc (ENOC) from Hold to Buy following its strong earnings report last night.  Canaccord Adams is positive on the company as well, reiterating its Buy rating on the company and raising the price target from $28 to $32.

ZAP Receives 100 Scooters Powered By Advanced Battery Technologies (ABAT)

ZAP has received a shipment of 100 electric vehicles powered by larger-format polymer lithium-ion batteries from Advanced Battery Technologies. This first shipment was for Zappy3 Li personal transporters, but the two companies plan to expand their partnership into larger vehicles soon, such as pickups, vans and the Alias roadster model that ZAP is developing.

FPL Group (FPL) Reports Mixed Results; Strength In Clean Energy Division

FPL Group (FPL) which is the largest producer of solar and wind power in the US reported solid earnings this morning, driven by strength in its NextEra Energy Resources business (profits up 30%).

Trina Solar (TSL) Issues Guidance, Announces Follow On Offering

Trina Solar (TSL) provided guidance for this quarter, next quarter and the full year 2009 after the bell today. 

For the 2nd quarter, the company narrowed its shipment estimate from 60 – 65MW to 63 – 65MW.  The company expects revenues in the range of $148 – 152 million, a 25% haircut from the year ago quarter.

EnerNoc (ENOC) Surges AH After Earnings Beat; Rapidly Moving Towards Profitability

EnerNoc (ENOC) is emerging as a demand response leader and is well on its way to becoming the first to profitability (ahead of rivals Comverge and Echelon).  The company blew away EPS estimates again this quarter, reporting a non GAAP loss of .12/share vs expectations of a .33 loss.  Revenues were better than expectations as well, coming in at $42 million vs the expectation of $39 million.
