China May Scrap Some Nuclear Power For Solar Power

According to Bloomberg, the Nation Development & Reform Commission in China has said that it will reduce its 2020 target for nuclear power from 80GW, but didn’t say by how much.  The beneficiary?  Solar power companies.  The commission plans to increase its solar power capacity estimate for 2020 from 20GW, but also didn’t specify by exactly how much.

Ford (F) Sees Increasing Demand For CNG Natural Gas Vehicles

Well, the credibility of A-Power Energy (APWR) is in question yet again this morning as the company postpones its earnings report once again.  You might remember that the company first postponed its earnings report back in November of last year and didn’t give a reason.  The stock was hit hard a few weeks later when the company finally reported and missed on earnings and guidance.

China Sunergy (CSUN) Posted Mixed Earnings Results, Gives Back Morning Surge

Shares of China Sunergy (CSUN) popped this morning after the company posted earnings results that beat analyst estimates on the bottom line but didn’t live up to expectations on the top line.  The company reported an EPS of .37/share (vs analyst estimate of .33/share) on revenues of $170 million (vs analyst estimate for $175 million).  It looks like traders favored the improvement in margins and the beat on the EPS side, but by the end … Read the rest

Nexxus Lighting (NEXS) Received Another Energy Star Approval For LED Lights

Cereplast (CERP) Signs Another European Distribution Deal (Croatia)

Cereplast (CERP) continues to sign distribution deals across Europe for its bioplastics resins used for the production of biodegradable packaging.  This time the company has landed a one year deal with Croatian based DMT Plasticor which provides DMT with exclusive distribution rights in Croatia.  The deals opens the door for DMT to begin replacing petroleum based packaging for food products in Croatia with more earth friendly packaging made from corn, wheat, tapioca, potatoes and algae.… Read the rest
