Raser Technologies (RZ) has agreed to a long term lease agreement with private land owners covering 37K acres of geothermal resources in Southeastern Oregon. Financials of the deal were not disclosed but it includes the rights to build geothermal power plants.

US Geothermal (HTM) Raft River Site Wins DOE Grant
The US Department of Energy has chosen US Geothermal’s (HTM) Raft River site in Idaho as one of 21 projects to demonstrate the viability of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) and will provide up to $6 million to fund the research. The program is designed to perform a monitored thermal stimulation of an existing injection well to improve permeability within the geologic horizon that hosts the Raft River geothermal reservoir.

Raser Technologies (RZ) Announces Funding For New Geothermal Project
Raser Technologies, Inc announced that is has secured funding for a geothermal power project to be installed near Beaver, Utah. Once complete, the geothermal plant will use PureCycle® geothermal power systems to produce 10 MW of electrical power, enough to supply electricity to 9,000 homes. Since the plant is geothermal, the power produced will be emissions-free.
