The company reported an EPS number of .46/share on revenues of $262.9 million (vs the analyst estimate for .34/share on revenues of $222.7 million). That’s good for EPS and revenue growth of 84% and 51% respectively.

Another Nexxus Lighting (NEXS) LED Product Approved By Energy Star
Nexxus Lighting (NEXS) announced earlier today that its best selling LED bulb, the MR16, was also approved as an ENERGY STAR Qualified LED light bulb recently. The bulb uses just 3.3watts of produce over 150 lumens. The company’s R16 and GU10 products are also approved under ENERGY STAR guidelines and is awaiting approval for other LED products.

China Intelligent Lighting (CIL) Adds 300 Distribution Outlets For LED Products
China Intelligent Lighting (CIL) has signed contracts with distributors to open another 300 distribution outlets in China in 2011 to sell the Hyundai brand and its own CINLE brand of LED lighting products. The distributors will initially sign 2 year contracts and CIL will invest about $7.5K in each store ($2.3 million total). This announcement of 300 additional distribution outlets brings the total to 2500 across 30 provinces in China.
Philips (PHG): “LED Will Represent 1/2 Of Global Lighting Market Within 5 YRS”
Philips (PHG), which is a big global player in the led lighting segment, believes the LED light source market will expand to over $15 billion and the led lighting device market to over $40 billion by 2015, representing half of the global lighting market. They see LED lighting accounting for 75% of the global lighting market by 2020.

China Intelligent Lighting (CIL) Expands Capacity 20%
China Intelligent Lighting (CIL) has announced it’s expanding its LED manufacturing operations, leasing a new 215K sq foot facility which opened yesterday. The facility will contain production lines, R&D and office space. Five new new production lines, one of which will be used for LED street lamp components, is expected to increase total capacity by up to 20% and be fully operational within a couple months.
Cree Inc (CREE) Misses, Guides Lower, Shares Down 15% AH
Cree Inc (CREE) posted earnings results after the bell today and it didn’t meet the continued lofty expectations of Wall St as traders sent the stock down more than 15%. The company reported a non GAAP EPS of .55/share on revenues of $257 million but that was shy of Wall St estimates of .58/share in EPS on revenues of $277 million.
