Oppenheimer maintained a Perform rating on EnerNOC (ENOC) after the earnings report came in higher than the firms estimates. However, the firm lowered its 2011 estimate from $.91 to $.79. Shares plummeted after the company issued weak guidance, but held key support around the $25 level today.
The Chinese solar companies continue to report impressive growth and LDK Solar (LDK) is no exception as the company smashed analyst estimates this morning and raised guidance way above expectations. The company reported a non GAAP EPS number of .72/share vs the analyst estimate of just .43/share on revenues of $675 million vs the estimate of $628 million. Those numbers represent quarter over quarter growth of 167% and 140% respectively.
Solarfun (SOLF) has reported earnings results this morning that beat analyst estimates, but the stock is being pressured on news the company will raise funds in a follow on offering and will look to sell nearly $70 million in shares.

JA Solar (JASO) is reporting strong results this morning, beating analyst estimates and raising guidance. The company reported a GAAP EPS of .47/share and while the company doesn’t report a non GAAP number it looks like to me the non GAAP is .36/share which beats the analyst estimate of .34/share. Evergreen Solar has announced that their String Ribbon solar panels have been used in a total of 9 solar installations in the Czech Republic, to provide a total of 12MW of power. The installations were carried out by Czech IT company NWT. The latest of these installations is a 3.5MW plan which is currently being built near the Czech city of Rostin.
SunPower just announced that they will be partnering with Colorado Springs Utilities to build a 6MW solar power plant at the U.S. Air Force Academy. It should be up and running by 2011, and will remove approximately 9,400 tons of CO2 from the atmosphere each year.
MEMC Electronic Materials just announced that the patent lawsuit brought against the company by Soitec has been concluded. The rulings were mostly in MEMC’s favor, as Soitec was found to be infringing on MEMC’s ‘812 patent. MEMC was found to be infringing on Soitec’s ‘009 patent, but only in relation to wafers produced for research and development in between 2004-2006.
According to Reuters, First Solar (FSLR) has received China’s approval to start prep work on a 30MW phase of what could be a larger 2GW project over the next decade. It’s being reported that the company will still have to submit a feasibility study.
Evergreen Solar (ESLR) reported mixed results after the bell last night, but showed the biggest improvement in EPS in a long time and beat analyst estimates. The company posted an EPS loss of .08/share vs the analyst estimate of a .11/share loss.
