Suntech (STP) Achieves Multi-Crystalline Module Conversion Efficiency Record (Again)

Suntech just announced that it has achieved another world record for multi-crystalline module conversion efficiency. In August, Suntech broke  Sandia National Lab’s previous record of 15.5 percent. Now, it has broken its own record by achieving conversion efficiencies of 16.53%, as verified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE.

ReneSola (SOL) To Purchase Dynamic Green Energy

ReneSola just announced that it has share purchase agreement to acquire Dynamic Green Energy. Dynamic Green owns Jiawei Solarchina Co and other subsidiaries, owns production facilities for solar ingots and PV modules and also assists other solar manufacturers with original equipment manufacturing.  Under the agreement, ReneSola will gain ownership of all of Dynamic Energy’s shares in exchange for the following: 26,787,210 shiny new ordinary shares of ReneSola and a $10 million convertible promissory note.

Ascent Solar (ASTI) Surges Above 50DMA On Goal Zero Portable Power Deal

Wedbush Morgan Maintains Neutral On Sunpower (SPWRA), Raises Price Target

Wedbush Morgan is out this morning maintaining its Neutral rating on SunPower Corporation (SPWRA), but raising its price target from $25 to $33.

Construction to Start Again on Hoku’s (HOKU) Idaho Plant

Hoku’s Pocatello plant just got another reprieve. According to Reuters, Hoku just announced that construction will begin again on its Pocatello, Idaho plant. Under the change order agreement that Hoku entered into with construction company JH Kelly, Hoku will pay JH Kelly $5 million of the total $12 million that is past due. Sunpower (SPWRA) Building Portion Of Italy’s Largest Solar Plant

Collins Stewart is upgrading Canadian Solar (CSIQ) to Buy and setting the price target at $21.
