Yingli Green Energy (YGE) To Supply PV Modules To SDIC Huajing

Yingli Green Energy just announced that it will supply its PV solar modules to SDIC Huajing. Yingli was selected by SDIC Huajing to supply the company with solar modules to power its 10 MW on-grid solar power plant project in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. The plant has already been given the green light by the province’s Development and Reform Commission.

JP Morgan Upgrades Evergreen Solar (ESLR), Doubles Price Target; Downgrades First Solar (FSLR)

LDK Solar (LDK) Gets 5W Deal With Italy’s SAEM

An increasing number of solar deals are coming out of Italy.  LDK Solar (LDK) is getting a bit of a pop premarket on news that it will work with Italy’s SAEM beginning this month to build five 1MW solar PV plants in the Apulia region of Italy.  LDK will supply the solar wafers and SAEM will provide just about everything else including system integration.

Sunpower (SPWR) Gets $100 Million In Wells Fargo (WFC) Financing

The news of the Wells Fargo/Sunpower financing deal after the bell yesterday is great news for Sunpower and the industry in general.  This is the kind of deal that can truly get solar power moving in the right direction.. and quickly.  Private financing is key.  Wells Fargo has now provided more than $1.75 billion in financing for alternative energy projects in the last three years and is looking to provide more.

Trina Solar (TSL) Gets $57 Million Worth Of New Credit

Trina Solar just announced that it received $57 million worth of new credit facilities from China’s Standard Chartered Bank. The funding will help the company buy more raw materials and provide a buffer against foreign exchange risks. This brings Trina Solar’s total available credit up to $520 million from approximately $460 million.

Canadian Solar (CSIQ) Reconfirms/Announces 120MW In Recent Sales

Barrons: First Solar’s (FSLR) Largest Customer (Phoenix Solar) Warns, Stock Plunges Further And Headed to 150

According to Barron’s, First Solar’s (FSLR) largest customer Phoenix Solar (according to Hapoalim Securities analyst Gordon Johnson), has issued a warning, saying not to rely on previous earnings estimates due to a continued decline in pricing for solar modules, customer buying resistance and increased devaluation requirement for current inventories.  The company will only issue guidance once prices have stabilized but they do expect positive EBIT for the year.
