Exelon Energy has introduced a new product, the Emission-Free Energy Certificate, to help its business customers demonstrate their environmental commitment to the public. The certificate will be offered initially to existing commercial and industrial customers as part of a pilot program.

EMCORE Corporation just announced that the company’s revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2009 is up by 15% over the first quarter of last year. From PV-tech.org, here are the preliminary numbers:

The Senate just passed an energy bill that would renew the investment tax credits for renewable energy. Those credits are set to expire at he end of the year, and they are vital to encouraging investment in renewable energy technologies. According to a press release, Pacific Gas & Electric (PCG) announced two contracts for a combined 800 MW of solar power. The two deals will provide 1.65 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, enough to serve 239,000 residential homes.
