Clean Energy Fuels (CLNE) keeps racking up the long term deals to supply CNG fueling services, many of them at airports in California. It’s secured another one. This morning the company is announcing it will provide CNG fueling stations at Ontario Intl Airport in Los Angeles for shuttle buses, taxicabs and shuttle vans. The plan is to convert the entire fleet of shuttle buses and taxicabs to CNG fuel within two years with CLNE providing up to 800K gallons of fuel per year at peak capacity. The stations will also be available to the general public 24/7.
Said CLNE VP James Harger, “This contract grows our partnership with LAWA where we have been providing CNG and liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Los Angeles International Airport`s (LAX) fleet since 1997. LAWA is one of the most progressive agencies in the country. LAX adopted the first LNG-powered parking shuttle fleet in 1994 and later instituted mandates for shared-ride service to use CNG in 2001.”
Shares of CLNE are modestly higher premarket, up about 1%.
