Today, PowerSecure (POWR) announced $15 million in new orders across its range of green energy products.  The breakdown is $8 million for its smart grid power systems, $5 million for utility infrastructure products and $2 million for LED lighting products.  The new business comes from a range of customers and will be recognized as revenue this year.  To put the new contracts in perspective, the company has been averaging about $25 million a quarter in revenue over the past year, so the new business is fairly significant.

Sidney Hinton, CEO of PowerSecure, said, "We are pleased to announce these new business awards to serve utilities and customers across our business lines. Highlights include a major retailer who is embarking on its first installation of our new EfficientLights LED-based shelf lighting, and a new substation for a municipality. Shares of POWR finished about flat today and continue to work on the bottom of a new base.
