Altair Nanotechnologies released its 3rd quarter results this morning. The company’s revenues have decreased significantly from the third quarter of last year. This year, revenues were $1.80 million. This time last year, the company reported revenues of $3.37 in the third quarter. Altair also reported an increased net loss of $9.11 million, or 11 cents per share, up from last year’s net loss of $6.13 million, or 9 cents a share.
Altair Nanotechnologies announced today that DesignLine International has placed an order for 4 of their hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) battery packs, at a total cost of $54,000. Altair will supply Designline International with the battery cells, assemble them into working battery modules, and train Designline International’s employees to assemble future products from Altair on their own. The initial 4 battery packs will be used on city transit buses and for a modular testing program.
Altair Nanotechnologies, Inc, announced that it has completed the 500th full depth cycle of a lithium titanate battery that the company developed under contract with the U.S. Navy. In testing, the battery was shown to have only lost 1% of its capacity, a stunning result that highlights the long life of the new battery technology.
