Demand response leader EnerNOC (ENOC) has reported earnings results this morning that beat analyst estimates by a healthy margin. The company reported a non GAAP EPS of $1.96/share vs the estimate for $1.56 on revenues of $169 million vs the estimate for $161 million.

Yingli Green Energy (YGE) is out this morning updating guidance ahead of official earnings results in a few weeks and there are no surprises. As has been the case with ALL solar companies, YGE is taking down guidance, but it isn’t slashing guidance significantly like many other companies have and YGE remains my top China solar play.

STR Holdings (STRI) reported mixed results last night with an EPS number that beat analyst estimates at .21/share (analysts expected .19/share) despite a revenue number that was way below analyst estimates at $56 million (analysts expected $85 million). That’s a 21% decrease in revenue sequentially and 18% quarter over quarter.
PowerSecure International (POWR) is having a great morning gapping up off a bottom and up nearly 20% after the company reported results that were way ahead of analyst estimates with the company swinging back to a quarterly profit after posting breakeven results last quarter and a loss in the year ago quarter.
You have to wonder whether the good news out of solar will ever return with the constant flow of negative headlines. It’s not getting any better for the solar industry in after hours action tonight. Big US solar manufacturer Sunpower is reporting less than stellar results as well in addition to an announcement of a Q4 reorganization that has the CFO saying adios. The company aims to cut costs by 10% next year.
Solar stocks got a jolt of buy interest last week, but have been giving some of that back. Trina Solar (TSL) reported financial results yesterday that missed analyst estimates, but shares rose anyway which is an indication that the worst is likely over for top tier solar stocks such as Trina Solar. The company reported an EPS of .32/share on revenues of $580 million vs the analyst estimates for .47/share on revenues of $600 million.
