MEMC Electronic Materials was ordered to pay over $8.8 million in a legal dispute with BP Solar, according to the St. Louis Business Journal. The judgement against MEMC came on Friday after a jury ruled that MEMC had violated a supply agreement with BP back in 2006 and 2007. Lawsuit Against Greenhunter Energy (GRH) Dismissed
A lawsuit filed against Greenhunter Energy in Kansas has been dismissed. The lawsuit was filed by ethanol producer Orion Ethanol, Inc in June, 2008.

Energy Conversion Devices Sells Cobasys To SB LiMotive
Energy Conversion Devices, Inc just announced that its subsidiary, Ovonic Battery Company, Inc, has sold its interests in Cobasys to SB LiMotive. Chevron Technology Ventures LLC, which also had an interest in Cobasys, has sold its interests as well. Cobasys is now owned by SB LiMotive, a joint venture between Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. and Robert Bosch GmbH.

Conergy To Sue MEMC Electronic Materials (WFR) Over Contract
It’s official: Conergy is suing MEMC Electronic Materials to try to end a 10 year supply contract with the company. The contract was signed before the economy crashed and took silicon wafer prices down with it. Talks between the two companies to amend the contract broke down last week.

LDK Solar (LDK) Investors Receive Class Certification In Lawsuit
The class action suit against LDK Solar took another step forward last week when Judge William Alsup approved a class consisting of anyone who purchased LDK shares. According to Law360, the lawsuit alleges that "LDK Solar Co. Ltd. and its executives committed a massive securities fraud by inflating the value of the company’s inventory of raw materials and understating the costs of producing solar wafers, which are used in devices that convert sunlight into electricity." … Read the rest
