PG & E (PCG) To Roll Out New 500MW Solar Power Initiative

PG & E just announced that their new solar power program has been approved by the California Public Utilities Commission. The program involves constructing 500 MW of PV solar power systems, 250 MW of which will be owned by PG & E and 250MW of which will be owned by independent developers.

Pacific Gas and Electric (PCG) Building Wind Energy Storage Plant

According to MercuryNews.com, Pacific Gas and Electric just announced that it will be building a 300-megawatt facility to store wind energy generated during times of low demand, to be released when demand is up.The facility will consist of an underground storage area. Compressed air will be injected into the storage facility and released to produce electricity as needed.
