Cree, Inc just released a new multichip MC-E LED, the XLamp MC-E. This product combines red, white, green and blue LED chips in a single LED light. With their color-changing capabilities and small size, these lights are ideal for architectural and entertainment uses. As a bonus, their footprint is 80% smaller than that of the existing XLamp color LEDs.

CREE is also demonstrating a new cool white LED lamp at this week’s LIHGTFAIR International Event. The new XLamp XP-G is 37% brighter and 53% more efficient than anything Cree has released so far. In an article in Semiconductor Today, Paul Thieken, Cree’s marketing director for LEDs, commented on the new product:

“The XLamp XP-G again raises the level of performance available from our XLamp LED family,” says Paul Thieken, marketing director LED components. “This product is designed for customers requiring the highest levels of brightness and efficacy,” he adds.
