UQM Technologies (UQM) And Armor Holdings, Inc. Test Hybrid Electric Trucks For Military Use

UQM Technologies and Armor Holdings, Inc, are preparing to put two hybrid electric future heavy trucks through Military Utility Assessment at Fort Lewis, Washington. The two trucks, which are equipped with UQM  120 kW) hybrid electric propulsion systems, have already passed a test run at the U.S. Army’s Aberdeen and Michigan Proving Grounds.

William G. Rankin, President and Chief Executive Officer of UQM Technologies, Inc, commented on the tests:

"We are pleased to be a member of the Armor Holdings team and have their vehicles move to this important next step of testing as part of the US Armys Future Tactical Truck System program. The 120 kW UQM electric propulsion systems powering these hybrid vehicles incorporate our latest technology advancements which further improve their performance, power density and efficiency, as well as their reliability, durability and cost."
