UQM Technologies (UQM) is seeing a nice pop over the past couple days after it was announced on Tuesday that the company has received another order from Electric Vehicles International. The order is for 100 propulsion systems that will ultimately be used in all electric trucks for UPS which are expected to be deployed in California very soon. UPS will replace diesel trucks saving up to 126K gallons of fuel every year.
Some great news out of UQM Technologies (UQM) this morning, which announced it has begun high volume production of its PowerPhase electric propulsion system with a total capacity of 40K units across two shifts. The stock soared back in January aftr it announced it had added the capability for full production. The stock is not moving much (yet) on news it will actual product at full capacity.
I’ve been out on vacation for a few days so missed this press release, but on Aug 26th UQM Technologies (UQM) announced that it’s expanding into the hybrid marine propulsion business through a collaboration with ReGen Nautic. Now if we could just do something about the damn noise of jet skis!

UQM Technologies (UQM) is still a ways off from profitability, but continues to inch closer to the important achievement and may be able to get there next year. The company announced in January that it now has full production capabilities and the CEO reiterated its aggressive plans for growth and profitability when it reported earnings last night.
UQM Technologies (UQM) surged with heavy volume today up off the 50 day moving average after new CEO Eric Ridenour announced that the company has added full production capabilities for its electric vehicle components which include electric motors, generators and electronic controls. The company will present at the Piper Jaffray 6th Annual Clean Technology & Renewables Conference January 12th.
UQM Technologies (UQM) announced yesterday it received another large order from hybrid/electric bus manufacturer Proterra and will supply 150 electric propulsion systems for use in their new all electric buses. The initial supply term is for one year and the total contract could reach $1 million.
UQM Technologies (UQM) has announced this morning that it received an initial order for 50 of its PowerPhase electric propulsion systems from an established international auto manufacturer which may eventually purchase thousands of the systems to prepare for the electric car launch from this unnamed manufacturer in 2012. Delivery is expected in the 4th quarter and expected to continue through the first quarter 2011.
UQM Technologies (UQM) reported earnings last night that were in line with the analyst estimate of a .03/share loss on the EPS side, but missed the revenue estimate of $2.39 million (posting $2.28 million). This is a company that continues to struggle, but sees potentially rapid growth next year with the CFO predicting profitability in Q1 2011 with some help from the DOE.

UQM Technologies (UQM) announced today it will supply upgraded electric propulsion systems to Electric Vehicles International, a California electric manufacturer, for use medium trucks and van’s. Fifty of the upgraded PowerPhase 150kW systems will be delivered in June and be completed by October. No word on the total number of systems or financials of the deal.
